The Wisconsin Historical Society is committed to ensuring the safety of our guests and staff. With the most recent information regarding COVID-19, we have made the decision to temporarily close to the public, the library and archives at headquarters, Wisconsin Historical Museum and Wade House Historic Site which are open year-round until at least April 11, 2020. All of the other historic sites and museums which would be opening later in the season have also canceled or postponed events until at least April 11, 2020. All school tours are also canceled at all of our historic sites and museums until at least May 11, 2020.

Our facility closures are precautionary measures; no known cases of the virus have been reported by any of our volunteers, staff or visitors. Our facilities team has increased cleaning and sanitizing frequencies in all of our buildings as an additional precautionary measure.

We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate any changes via email, this special page on our website, and social media. While our facilities are closed, we encourage you to visit wisconsinhistory.org for additional resources and information.

Special event changes will be updated on our website at: https://www.wisconsinhistory.org/Records/EventSearch.

If you have purchased tickets for a special event, information about refunds or rescheduled dates will be communicated to you via email in the near future. We appreciate your patience as we work through these changes. Thank you again for your continued support of the Wisconsin Historical Society.
